  1. i will differ a bit...i think the cut off for general will go a bit high
    215-220
    for obc 200-210
    for sc 185-195
    for st 175-185
    the paper was simpler but confusing.so the cut off will surely go high.

    2. the question on the face may have appeared simple but was not the case some questions can only be gussed many were difficult for an average candidate....so if we not thik from toppers point of veiw

  27. approx 5000 candidate will be call for mains exam. there may be not more than 1000 candidate who scored more than 100 questions. then how u can expect more cut off.

    MY SCORE (& THAT OF OTHERS TOO) IS IRRELEVANT FOR BENCHMARKING AS A COUPLE OF SCORES DO NOT DEPICT REALITY.

    ALSO THE MODEL ANSWERS PROVIDED BY THE COMMISSION ARE TENTATIVE SO WE DON'T KNOW WHAT OUR FINAL SCORES ARE, THE SITUATION IS CONFUSING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE AS MANY AS 20 QUESTIONS ARE UNDER THE SCANNER.

    A FINAL REQUEST TO FRIENDS WHO ARE BASING THEIR CUTOFFS ON THE RESULTS OF PRELIMS 2008 (ABOUT 78%), FRIENDS YOU ARE AT A FAULT AS THE STANDARD & NATURE OF QUESTIONS IN BOTH PAPERS ARE DIFFERENT.

    I THINK I PREDICTED THAT TIME THAT THE CUTOFF WOULD BE ABOVE 75, WHICH PROVED TO BE CORRECT. I BELIEVE THE CUTOFF THIS TIME WILL SURELY BE LOWER AS MENTIONED IN THE BLOGPOST.

    LASTLY, FOR THE CURIOUS SOULS AMONGST US, I CAN ONLY PROVIDE THIS SOLACE THAT MY SCORE IS ABOVE 100.

Since the question's were very general in nature even those who were preparing for long found it difficult to attempt accurately more than 110 questions,those who are good in mathematics & reasoning have scored more than 100, looking at the number of posts , around 5000 will qualify for mains, the cut off may be as follows(very close to the figures given at the top):
      GEN 95 AND ABOVE
      OBC 88 AND ABOVE
      SC 75 AND ABOVE
      ST 70 AND ABOVE
      THOSE WHO HAVE SCORED LIKEWISE START PREPARING FOR MAINS , IF YOU START NOW YOU CAN EVEN TOP THE FINAL MERIT LIST.

  62. what about the wrong answers mentioned in answer sheet, are the going to correct or check according to what they mentioned, like arun vajpai is the right answer , annual rainfall in wikipedia cg is 1292 mm. will they correct it or not. then my correct question will be 102 what are chances id the dont correct.

      we should not hide our weakness.
      we should be co-operative with PSC. You must Know this psc is working hard to mainten the routine . I belive that our genuine complain will be resolved. Ab darbari ya thakur jaise log nahi hai. Unhone PSC ko barbad kar diya . recover karne me kuchh to time lagega.

    9. I am seeing people are unnecessary pulling legs of Rooplata..Whatever she said is TRUE..There is no equality in this country. Generals are treated as secondary citizens of this country..Jo 100 yrs pahle hota tha 'Soshan' dalit tabke ke logon ke saath wo aaj Generals ke saath ho raha hai...In the consititution reservation was given only for 10 yrs & only 22%. It was getting extended till 70 yrs & quatum of reservation has increased to 53 %...Aaj hame kahin bhi barabari ka adhikar nahi hai..General category me jo bacche garib hein unhe borad exams 80 % lane ka baad bhi koi scholorship nahi milti kyunki hamare desh me scholorships jaat dekh ke dee jati hai..pratibha dekh ke nahi...General me garib bacche engineering nahi kar pate (PET me top ke marks lane ka baad bhi) kyunk unke pita 25000 RS (fees for govt engg colleges) nahi bhar sakte..wahin SC, ST category me fees govt ke dwara reimburse kar di jati hai...

    10. We do not oppose concept of reservation but it should be reasonable & justified...Generals me jo log bahut garib hein unhe bhi reservation milna chahiye..
      SC, ST & OBC me jo log reservation ka laabh utha ke sarkari padon par aa gaye hein..unke pariwar walon ko reservation ka benefit stop karna chahiye..Aaj collector ki bachhi ko bhi reservation mil raha hai..Use bhi sarkar dwara bati gayee free scooty (scheme for SC,ST & OBC girls) milti hai..Har warg me creamylayer concept hona chahiye...Jo log 30000 Rs mahina (3.6 lakh per annum) se jyada kama rahen hein..unke bachhon ko reservation ka labh nahi milna chahiye...bcoz they can afford good coachings & schools...

      Mein kabhi nahi chahunga ki eisa ho..par itna jarur kahunga ki sansad me baithne walon ko Generals ki problems par bhi thoda gaur karna chahiye..

      Sabhi log (SC,ST,OBC, Gen) is desh ke wasin hein.Sabhi ka hit socha jaye aur sabhi is desh ko milke aage badhayen. Jai Hind

      Kranti is the last step, what we need is first - AWAKENING. You see in parliament, there are leaders who says that they are Dalit leaders. Some says - they are Aadivasi leaders. Some says - they are Pichra Warg (OBC) leaders. There is no one who says I represent General Category as well. Even there is no one who says - I am leader for all categories including GENERAL.

      You know why - our great leaders think that SC, ST & OBC do voting in bulk, So they can be treated as a reliable Vote bank.

      What we need to do -
      We should create a forum for us (may be some poltical outfit). We all should vote. Show unity..Vote for a party who promise atleast justice (not even equality) for Generals. I agree to the person who said this above - "We do not oppose concept of reservation but it should be reasonable & justified".

      Don't stop giving reservation but change the reservation policy to make it worth for needy.
      1) All the benefits like free coachings, free hostels, discounted tution fees, scholorships should also be extended to very poor people in General category.
      2) People who have availed the benefit of reservation once. Their immediate family members should not be given benefit of reservation further. For example - person who become Nayab Tahsildar with the benefit of reserved category. His immediate family members (i.e. Childrens & wife) can not avail reservation benefit further.
      3) There should be creamy layer range in each & every category. Per annum salary limit can be different for each category. People who are really at cream in each category, should not get the benefit of reservation. For example - There is no point giving benefit of reservation to SC person whose parents are earning more than 6 lakhs per annum.

    5. Samvidhan me reservation 10 years ke liye diya gaya tha & total % was 22. It was ok to continue it for 30 yrs but then they should have decreased it gradually (like 2.5 % reduction in every 10 year) BUT what these caste politicians did - instead of decreasing they increased the % to 53 & continued the system for 70 yrs which was meant for 10 yrs only. Whatever Ambedkar did in the beginning, it was good. In 1949 some kind of reservation was required to uplift certain caste people but not in 2012.       country (among developed & fast developing nations) where CASTE is perferred over MERIT. Take the example of other nations. See USA..30 % of US population is blacks who were slaves before 1863. What US govt did to uplift their social status...they provided all the amenmities near to
      Blacks colonies like dicounted schools, coachings, hostels & more over US govt ensured that in their country sufficient job opportunities are created so that everyone (who is willing to work) can get the job as per his/her skillset.

      What they DID NOT do - Reservations. They have ensured that at the time of competetion MERIT is preferred over
      all other factors (race, nationalities etc..). Whoever perform well, will get the job. But In India, it is reverse - Govt is providing free schools, dicounted tution fees, free hostels etc.. for upliftment & top of that Reservation...What is this..?

      There is need to improve the facilties provided by Govt so that all needy people can avail them. Need efficiency in the social welfare programs for backwards...BUT at the time of competetion all should be equal...No
      discrimination based on Caste/Religion..Merit/Talent should be supreme.

    1. Logical proof is there . In Harrappan excavation there are many seal found of elephant, bullock, lion and horse remains have been find in " Surkotda" (Jha and Shrimali). If there were no elephant buffalo lion then how can harrappan people iamagine them. but the Question is about remains. I think finding of lion and elephant is so Obvious in india that no one writes about there findings !

    All these books and websites support my argument that Indus People were aware of existence of Lion but one can not say the same about the existence of the cow . No seal ,no motifs , no book , no website ,no recent research say that the Indus people were aware of the existence of the cow .
